Prenatal Care
Comprehensive and holistic prenatal care is a hallmark of midwifery. I provide prenatal appointments throughout pregnancy, increasing in frequency as the estimated due date approaches or as indicated otherwise.
Routine appointments each last about an hour and include:
Monitoring the growth of the baby
Monitoring the baby’s heart rate
Performing indicated lab work
Maternal vital assessments
Nutritional counseling
Childbirth education
Access to community resources
Herbal, homeopathic, and supplemental recommendations
Continual risk-assessment with referrals or co-care with other providers as needed,

With in-depth routine appointments, I absolutely love to take the time to get to know each family, thoroughly answer questions, and work in partnership with the client to prepare for birth and the postpartum season.
Home Birth
I attend the labor, birth, and the immediate postpartum in the comfort and peace of the client’s home. Clients have access to my direct cell phone number for efficient and clear communication. I arrive to the home during active labor and monitor maternal vital signs and fetal heart rate intermittently. I hire another licensed midwife within the community to attend each birth as my assistant.
There are many ways to labor and birth, therefore the care I provide is thoughtfully centered around clinical guidelines as well as the client’s desires, needs, and intuition. To prepare for any complications that may arise, supplies and medications are brought to every birth and midwives are trained to react accordingly.
After birth, APGAR scores are given, as well a complete newborn examination. I prioritize mother-baby bonding and assist to get breastfeeding established. My goal is to make sure mother and baby are stable, and that the family is comfortable, supported, and confident.

Postpartum Care
Through 6 weeks after birth, I provide gentle and thorough postpartum care to the client and her new little one. There are five routine postpartum appointments between birth and 6 weeks postpartum, with the first appointment just 24-28 hours after the birth at the client’s home.
At each visit, I will check on the well-being of the growing family through assessments of both newborn and maternal vital signs, performing indicated lab work, screening for complications, providing breastfeeding support, as well as referrals and resources, and more.
The postpartum period is a deeply transformative time for each and every growing family, whether it is the clients first baby or fifth!! I passionately believe in supporting this time with continued holistic care, just as what was provided in the prenatal period.
